A composite 1920's magazine photograph of the former WWI cross channel rail ferry at Richborough Kent, UK. Supplies, arms, ammunition, food and other essential supplies manufactured all over the United Kingdom were transported to troops on the other side of the English Channel from 1916 onward  to replace the old method of towing of individual barges. Road vehicles were also transported including an ambulance , Train Ferry One was used again in WWII and was named HMS Iris (later Princess Iris). Stock Photo
