Modern time it was settled by freed Greek slaves and immigrants in the 19th century. A quaint village town i the foothills not far from historic Ancient Ephesus. Small stores, local market, cafe and restaurants along narrow alley between white washed homes and buildings. Now turning into a tourist destination to see the old way of life.
