Cut-out of vintage 1950's Lloyds Bank home safe / money box, isolated on white background. These were issued by financial institutions between 1900 and the 1960s. The Home Safe would be issued to an account holder but not the key, this was held onto by the bank, so that when the home safe was full it had to be returned to the Bank who would then open it and deposit the money into the account. Although many banks specified that the money should remain in the account for a certain time, there were some that allowed instant access but not many. This particular example was issued by Lloyds Bank (now Lloyds Banking Group) with separate compartments for different coins (Penny, Half Crown, Shilling, Sixpence and Threepence). Bank notes could be inserted through a slot in the bottom of the Home Safe.
