Due to the global spread of the coronavirus (Covid-19) the worldwide air traffic is experiencing severe reductions resulting in continuous flight cancellations. Since the resumption of a few international flights the number of passengers has also severly decreased and airlines oftentimes operate with very low capacities. At the same time Singapore's economy shrank by more than 40 percent in the second quarter of this year as the corona crisis plunged the Southeast Asian financial hub into recession for the first time in more than a decade.
