1950s, historical, steelworks, an electric rapier lifting crane (EME-1) lifting stack of steel sheets at the Abbey Works, Port Talbot, South Wales, UK. The mobile crane was made in Ipswich, Suffolk, England, by Ransomes & Rapier, a leading British manufacturer of railway equipment and machinery for heavy works, a business dating back to 1869, which finally closed over a 100 years later in 1987.
