Fuels sold included Clevecol and Aero, with a sign for Cleveland Petrols. Cleveland was a British company originally established in 1920 at Trafford Park in Manchester by Norman Davis, which in 1938, was majority purchased by the US business, the Anglo-American Oil Co. In 1951 Anglo-American began calling itself Esso, after its orgins as Standard Oil (Eastern Seaboard Standard Oil). In the early 1970s all Cleveland filling stations were rebranded Esso.
