Founded as a Christian youth movement in Glasgow, Scotland in 1883 by William Alexander Smith, the idea of a uniformed youth group was a new idea at that time. The picture here shows three boys of different ages wearing redesigned BB uniform. All three with the traditional BB cap, but only the boy in the middle wearing the belt. At this time, the Brigade reorganised the Junior Section, formerly known as The Life Boys, A new Junior Section Achivement Scheme was introduced.
