1994 Prince of Wales Bridge or Second Severn crossing under construction in 1994. Construction was started in 1992 and the bridge was inaugurated on 5 June 1996 by the Prince of Wales to supplement the traffic capacity of the Severn Bridge. It is a cable-stayed bridge with one or more towers (or pylons), from which cables support the bridge deck. A distinctive feature are the cables or stays, which run directly from the tower to the deck, normally forming a fan-like pattern or a series of parallel lines.
