A controversial plaque relating to Cecil Rhodes is located between first floor windows of Oriel College owned 6 King Edward Street, Oxford. The plaque is just two streets away from the Cecil Rhodes statue that the Rhodes Must Fall movement have campaigned to have removed. Culture Secretary Nadine Dorries overruled Historic England and gave the plaque Grade II Listed status in July 2022. Credit: Stephen Bell/Alamy
