A late 19th Century illustration of the Battle of Suomenlinna (aka Bombardment of Sweaborg), fought on 9–11 August 1855 between Russian and Finnish defenders and a joint British/French fleet during the Åland War, part of the Crimean War. The fortress of Viapori (Sweaborg) was the main defensive installation in the Grand Duchy of Finland.
