Trees which are attacked by these animals will be noticed by the typical communal larval webs and by the complete defoliation. In the webs the caterpillars grow up. The butterflies hatch out between June and August. The trees recover from the defoliation in the same year. ein von der Gespinnstmotte befallener Baum, Koeln, Deutschland. Die Gespinnstmotte gehoert zu der Familie der Schmetterlinge. Die von den Tieren befallenen Baeume fallen durch die typischen Gespinnste und den Kahlfrass auf. In den Gespinnsten wachsen die Raupen heran. Die Falter schluepfen zwischen Juni und August. Von dem Kahlfrass erholen sich die Baeume schon im selben Jahr wieder durch einen Neuaustrieb.
