China will launch its first-ever International Import Expo in Shanghai on Monday (5 November 2018) amid the backdrop of the Sino-US trade spat, Xinhua news agency reported. The Expo boasts more than 3, 000 exhibitors from more than 130 countries, and is expected to debut 5, 000 producers from around the world, covering everything from food to medicine, and electrical appliances to cars. Ministries, local governments and central enterprises across the country have formed about 40 trading groups, together with hundreds of thousands of buyers. The group formed by the host Shanghai government consists of more than 15, 000 buyers, intending to purchase production equipment, medical equipment, cosmetics, dairy products, etc.
