Apr. 18, 2012 - One of the wonder of South East Asia, Borobudur is a gigantic memorial to Buddha; built in terraces covering the entire top of a hill, each tier is studded with bell-like 'Stupes' enclosing a cross legged statue of Buddha. The wells are covered with carvings illustrating scenes from life, old legends, and the much damaged by the Moslems who regarded the Buddha images as idols, the impressive construction is a symbol of Indonesia's past. Here is seen the carved walls of one of the terraces.
