Baghdad, Iraq. 06th Sep, 2019. Iraqi teacher and musician Majed Abdennour plays a musical instrument made from a Kalashnikov assault rifle and an ammunition box. Abdennour had the Kalashnikov at home between 2006 and 2008 to protect his family during the sectarian violence between the militias and extremists of the Iraqi Sunnis and Shiites factions. After more than 10 years of abandoning his weapon, Abdennour decided to bring it to a metalworker to transform it into a musical instrument that performs as a lute.
