CRIMSON CLOVER (Trifolium incarnatum). The best crop for Hay, Silage, and Green Manuring, —Fall, Winter, and Spring Pasturage. The advent of Crimson Clover marks the beginning of a revolutionary era in farming. Neverinthehistory of agri- culture has the discovery of a new economic plant been more opportune. Crimson Clover was known to a few of our farmers over thirty years ago, hut for more than a quarter of a century the fatal mistake was made of trying to re- % produce the crop from im- ported seed. It is the source of an unfailing supply of manure, —in fact, it solves the problem of cheap manuring; it is the great nitrogen gatherer and economizer in the use of fertili- zers. Especially valuable for planting in or- chards, berry patches, for sowing among culti vated crops, such as cabbage, corn, tomatoes, tobacco, etc., or in the open ground. Improves poor lands and restores to fertility those that have been worn down by excessive cropping. Crimson Clover grows at all times except when the ground is frozen. May be planted in spring, summer, and fall. Splendid for re- seeding Red Clover that has been winter-killed.
