Justin Bloomer, squad leader, 1st squad, 81mm Platoon, TRAP Section, Weapons Company, Battalion Landing team 1/4, 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit, and a Chatfield Minn. native, provides security while a CH-53E Super Stallion lands in the background to carry members of his team back to the USS Boxer during a Tactical Recovery of Aircraft Personnel (TRAP) training exercise during Operation Tropic Thunder on the Island of Oahu, Hawaii, Aug. 31, 2013. A TRAP involves searching for, recovering and administering medical aid if needed to a downed pilot. The Marines and Sailors with 13th MEU will deploy for several months in support of theater requirements of Geographic Combatant Commanders.
