Khutzeymateen Grizzly Bear Sanctuary, British Columbia, CanadaMore information:
The Khutzeymateen Grizzly Bear Sanctuary is in Northern British Columbia on the border with Alaska. This is a remote roadless wilderness of norther temperate rain forest where steep cliffs and waterfalls cascade down to the sea and large meadows of sedge grass of the estuary provide spring fodder for the large population of grizzly bears in the area after they come out of hibernation. Large male grizzlies, as well as mothers and cubs can be seen in the area. Chocolate lilies, buttercups and other wildflowers grow in the sedge grass meadows in the spring.
