Clyde Dam on the Clutha River, in Central Otago, South Island, New Zealand. It is the largest concrete gravity dam in New Zealand. It is 100 metres high with a base width of 70 metres. It's length is 490 metres and 1 million cubic metres of concrete was used in its construction. he dam opened in 1992 and first produced electricity the following year. It took 10 years to construct.The lake formed by the dam, Lake Dunstan, is 26.4 square Km in size and is a popular tourist attraction with multi recreational uses.
