Cw 7433 Cone on the ice 10.1.2021. After a spell of freezing cold weather the water’s of the Leeds and Liverpool canal had frozen over. Someone has managed to position a traffic cone on the ice, in the middle of the canal. With a bit of getting the camera in the right position the telegraph pole is sticking through the cone. Did they slide it there or push it into the middle with a stick? Or did they take a great risk and walk out onto the ice? As the weather turned milder the ice has started to melt so it appears the traffic cone is sat upright in the water. It’s not too far from the swing bridge that carries Crabtree Lane over the canal. The Leeds and Liverpool canal just off Crabtree Lane near Burscough in West Lancashire.
