This evening saw the official opening of 'Catalyst', the annual St. Johns Central College Photographic Studies graduate exhibition. The exhibition is running from the 31st of May to the 14th of June in St Peters, North Main Street, Cork. The show features the work of seven visual artists across a broad range of photographic disciplines. Coming from many different countries and many parts of Ireland with a diverse range of backgrounds and approaches to the medium. The work on display comprises of diverse and individually distinct practices, from documentary series with political and social undercurrent to fine art conceptual pieces. This variety of talents and plurality of voices contributes to the college's reputation on the national and international scene - St John's College is a place where creativity and diversity are supported and celebrated. The graduating photographers, whose work can be viewed in the show are: Anna Rakocinska, Ciara Hurley, Daniel Hurley, Deirdre O’Connell, John McDermott, Laura Mangan and Mark Twomey.
