Two large serving spoons from the table silver, dated 1840, The Tsar's court jeweller, Nichols & Plinke, St. Petersburg Partially gilded silver. Each spoon bears the engraved monogram "ON" beneath a grand ducal coronet and the crowned Russian double-headed eagle, St Petersburg hallmarks for "84" zolotniki, an inspection mark for Dmitry Ilich Tverskoi "1840", and the work master's mark "H.A.L." (Henrik August Long). The bowls of the spoons are gilded. Lengths 29 cm. Weights 226 and 236 g. In excellent condition.
