Production technician Jade Procter, makes synthetic rda, part of the Coronavirus COVID-19 detection kit, at the Primerdesign offices and labs at Chandler's Ford, Hampshire, UK Tuesday February 25, 2020. Molecular diagnostic development company Primerdesign have designed and manufactured a Coronavirus COVID-19 CE marked detection kit. The research and development team optimised the kit at the outbreak of the epidemic. A section of the virus sequence, specific only to COVID-19, is synthetically created in the lab and used as the basis of the kit to identify the virus. Recently CE marked, the kit is now suitable for use in clinical diagnosis of COVID-19. Primerdesign is a subsidiary of listed company the Novacyt Group Photograph : Luke MacGregor
