Red concrete statue of St. Aidan, who founded the monastery on the island of Lindisfarne in 635AD and spread Christianity amongst the Anglo-Saxon communities throughout the north of England. The statue was made by Kathleen Parbury, who died in 1986 and is buried nearby.
