Hambledon Lock has a weir and is situated on the River Thames about 2 miles downstream of Henley-on-Thames. The lock was built in 1773 and is named after the village of Hambledon about 1.5km north. The weir has a walkway over it to Hambledon Mill (mentioned in the Domesday Book) on the Buckinghamshire bank with the site of a Roman villa nearby.
