Village duck pond scene, Tickhill, Doncaster, South Yorkshire, 1961. Little has changed in this pleasant scene taken in the village of Tickhill near Doncaster in November of 1961. Some of the buildings in the village can be traced back to Norman times. Tickhill had a castle and to the left of the pond can be seen part of the castle walls, which were severely damaged during the Civil War. Much of the moat, garden and curtain walls still remain today however.
