Fracking - Atherton, Lancashire. 13th. March 2017: Early this morning a small group of anti-fracking protesters from Bolton, Manchester and Warrington held a 'pop-up' protest outside SIBGAS at an industrial estate in Atherton near Leigh, Greater Manchester. Pop-up protests are being held against companies found to be supplying Cuadrilla, a fracking company preparing an exploratory drilling operation for shale gas at Little Plumpton near Blackpool. Vehicles leaving SIBGAS site, a company who supplied portacabins to Cuadrillas site, were 'slow walked' out of the industrial estate to the main road. A small police presence facilitated other vehicles to enter and leave the industrial estate without hinderance.
