Tens of thousands of people attended the opening services of the 36th German Protestant Church Congress (Evangelischer Kirchentag). The Congress is held from 24. to 28. May in Berlin and more than 100,000 visitors are expected to attend. The congress coincides with the 500. anniversary of the Reformation.
