Sonny Bono Salton Sea Wildlife Refuge (EL -227ft) located along the course of the Pacific Flyway in the Imperial Valley of California. Flooding by the Salton Sea has reduced the manageable area of the refuge from 36, 700 acres to 2, 200 acres. Dykes (dikes) now limit further encroachment.
