RMTAACHJ–'King Charles's visit to Wren during the Building of St. Paul's'. By John Seymour Lucas (1849-1923). King Charles II (1630-1685) was the personal patron of Sir Christopher Wren (1632-1723). Here we see Charles II visiting Sir Christopher during the construction of the present cathedral which dates from the late 17th century and is in the English Baroque style. The cathedral was completed within Wren's lifetime and was part of a major rebuilding program which took place after the Great Fire of London.
