Ka Farushi bazaar, Kabul, Afghanistan.More information:
The Ka Farushi bazaar is also known as the Alley of Straw Sellers. This is tucked away behind the Pul e Kheshti Mosque, near Maiwand Square in Kabul. The domed cages are used to house chukar partridges, known locally as "kowk". Cukar partridges are the most prized of all the birds on sale in Kabul. Every Friday morning the birds are pitched in battle in bouts similar to cock fighting with spectators gambling on the outcome.
