The popular pleasure pier at San Clemente extends 1, 296 feet (395 meters) into the blue Pacific Ocean in Southern California, USA. Originally constructed in 1929, the wooden pier has been damaged by storms over the years and rebuilt several times. In this view from a bluff-top, the pier is frame by an arch on the veranda of Casa Romantica, an historic 1920s estate that has become the city's cultural center.
