On a hot sunny June Sunday, with temperatures into the mid 20's, over 6000 women took part in the Glasgow "Great Run" starting in Kelvingrove Park and running through the city and along the River Clyde, encouraged along the way by musicians and cheerleaders. Because of the hot weather, a cold shower station was set up for the participants to run through and cool down.
