More than likely a weasel with its broken fur line around its jaw. (See description) A weasel isn't so stoatally different!

Despite the corny joke on the subject, telling the difference between a stoat and a weasel is not so easy. With a good view of the tail, a black tip says stoat. A weasel is smaller but large weasels are the same size as small stoats. Both have a very similar diet and enjoy similar habitats and range around Britain. The final difference, I have learned, is that a weasel tends to have a more broken line between the dark fur and cream fur. This photo is likely to be a weasel based on a number of respected opinions.
