Print engraving circa 1867 entitled "A Night on the Sea of Galilee". It depicts one of the miracles of Jesus Christ - walking on water to meet his disciples. The incident is outlined in the Gospels of John (Chapter 6), Matthew and Mark. Jesus had sent his disciples ahead of him to Bethsaida by boat and when they were halfway across the Sea of Galilee he walked over the surface of the water to meet them. The disciples were initially terrified, thinking he was a ghost until he revealed himself and climbed on board. Engraving by Emily Sartain (1841 - 1927), based on an original painting by Charles-Francois Jalabert (1819 - 1901).
