JACKDAW Corvus monedula A group of adults take flight (blurred to illustrate movement). The jackdaw is one of the smaller members of the crow family which, outside of the breeding season, may form large flocks. It walks with a distinct 'swagger' and as an opportunistic feeder has a varied diet which includes insect larvae, worms and acorns. It has distinctive pale eyes and the nape of its neck is grey.
