The lower cave of Pak Ou Caves house more than 2, 500 Buddhas, most of which are made of wood. In the Lao language, “Pak” means mouth and “Ou” is the name of the River that fronts the cave. The caves are also known as Thamting Caves, “Tham” means caves and “Ting” means stalactites. Luang Prabang, Laos
