The view from the top of the Keep of Newcastle Castle, looking toward the The Swing Bridge over the River Tyne, which connects Gateshead and Newcastle upon Tyne, between the Tyne Bridge and the High Level Bridge. The mechanism used to move the bridge is still the same machinery originally installed by Sir William George Armstrong, 1st Baron Armstrong (1810 û 1900), a Tyneside industrialist who was the effective founder of the Armstrong Whitworth manufacturing empire.
