Karina mourns the death of her cousin, Maximo during his burial in Merida, Venezuela on April 26, 2008. Maximo was shot outside of his family home in the center of Belen, a red-zone sector in Venezuela heavily controlled by Colombian narco-traffickers. Police investigators say they have no leads on his case, which will most likely never be further investigated nor solved. Rampant police corruption and incompetence lead residents of Belen to often seek their own street justice or revenge.
