lloyds signal station is the oldest surviving purpose-built wireless communications station the world, built in 1901 to aid Marconi in his attempts to bridge the atlantic by wireless communications. It has been used has a holiday home and was an officers mess during world war two, but it has now restored to its 1901 condition complete with replicas of equipment Marconi would have used.
