More information:

Stormy clouds allow a bright ray of sunshine through in the calm of the evening at Maligne Lake in Jasper National Park of Alberta, Canada. The sunlight illuminates the rental boats and canoes next to the historic heritage building called Curly Phillip's Boathouse, now owned by Maligne Tours (recently bought by Brewster Travel) who do boat tours down the lake to the world famous Spirit Island. Leah and Samson Peak's stand behind the docks which are surrounded by a montane forest of pine, spruce and douglas fir. Wildflowers stand tall in the foreground. Jasper is an adventure destination for tourists and outdoorsmen seeking the Rocky Mountain escape of solitude in wildnerness and nature. The heritage boat house is a reminder of the early explorers in the area as Curly was a guide and outfitter who started making outdoor recreating more accessible in the area. Jasper National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and considered a jewel of the Canadian Rockies.
