NEXUS celebrates five photographers who came of age in the 1960's and were integral to the development of the photography departments at the University of Florida and Florida State University. NEXUS is also a window into the zeitgeist of "The Sixties", which informed their art-- a period of questioning and resistance to the status quo. Consequently, Jerry Uelsmann, Robert Fichter, Doug Prince, Evon Streetman and Todd Walker challenged and expanded traditional notions of the camera as an objective recording device.
