Guadeloupean or faithful pilgrims to the Virgin of Guadalupe travel at night and many places in the state of Sonora to the capital Hermosillo to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ every December 12th. They go up to the top of the so-called Cerrito de la Virgen where there are many altars in their honor, the night is dressed as a party full of candle lights and the Mecan games of a popular fair with food stands as well as a great sale of crafts with figures of these saints. This is how Mexicans give thanks for favors and miracles.
