Ordnance QF 17-pounder field gun at Fort Dunree County Donegal Ireland. Fort Dunree is a former military base on a promontory at Dunree Head in County Donegal. Overlooking Lough Swilly it's history dates back to the late 18th century. At the start of the Second World War the base was handed over to the then Irish Free State by Britain. It is now a military museum with walks and a visitors' cafe.
