Eastward view from West Wycombe hill Buckinghamshire UKMore information:
Eastward view of High Wycombe from West Wycombe hill in Buckinghamshire UK; in the 18th century a local philanthropist Sir Francis Dashwood caused the road between High Wycombe and West Wycombe to be built from local chalk from the historic "Hell Fire Caves"; this action provided work to local villagers who had suffered from a succession of harvest failures. The road can be seen in the photograph as a comparatively straight road.
