More information:

The Puente de la Mujer is (meant as) a rotating suspension footbridge. The middle section of the bridge should be able to rotate 90 degrees and come to rest on a stabilizing pylon in the middle of the harbour. It spans 100m (333ft) and is suspended from an inclined pylon 39m (128ft) high. The silhouet of the bridge symbols a couple dancing the tango: The man dips the woman; her back forms the bridge. The footbridge was donated by the Gonzalez family to the City of Buenos Aires in thanks for 60 years of work in the country. Started in 1998, it was completed on 20 December 2001. Sadly the city refused to pay for maintenance, claiming that that should have been a part of the gift too.
