Special postage stamps of the Reichspost for the referendum, 1938. 'The German Reich Post issued a special stamp of 6 Reichspfennig (dark green) on the occasion of the referendum on the annexation of Austria on 10 April 1938, which was released on 8 April at the postal stamp counters of the Deutsche Reichspost as well as in all post offices in Austria. The brand image of the new stamp that was designed by Prof. Erwin Puchinger for the stamping of national and international mailpieces, valid until 31 December 1938, symbolizes the 'Unification of the German Nation', and presents two men who carry together a swastika flag. In the frame of the brand image you can see the inscription 'One Nation, One Empire, One Leader - April 10, 1938' and at the bottom the words 'German Reich'. Date created: 28.03.1938'
