More information:

St John's Kirk in Perth is a late medieval church and Perth's oldest building still standing. Notable for hosting John Knox's sermon that triggered the reformation in Scotland. It was restored in 1926 under the direction of architect Sir Robert Lorimer. St John's Kirk was the first example of a herringbone pattern leaded spire, subsequently much copied. The spire contains a working set of carillon bells.
