A deckhand drops haddock and cod into the hold that has been pair trawled from the North Sea between Norway and the Shetland Islands. 15/12/04:Fishermen should be allowed to play a greater part in taking care of the marine environment in a bid to protect the sea's wildlife and habitats, European scientists said. A team at Newcastle University have come up with a pioneering North Sea fisheries management plan which they say for the first time recognises the importance of human beings and their interaction with the seas.
