This set of Nuclear, Biological and Chemical (NBC) warfare protective clothing was in use in the 1980's in the RAF. The smock and trousers are still in their sealed plastic bags as they would not have been opened unless used in a war situation. The holdall contains a respirator, spare canister, inner and outer gloves, and decontamination powder. (Separate image available from the same photographer.) The over boots would be used strapped over service issue boots, and the steel helmet completes the set.
