'A Perspective View of the Foundling Hospital with Emblematic Figures', 1749; showing mothers with babies waiting outside the gates of the Foundling Hospital in Camden, London. The hospital was founded by Captain Thomas Coram after seeing the plight of children left abandoned in the streets. In 1926 it was moved to Redhill, Surrey, and the original buildings were demolished.
